Prime Minister Gaston Browne who pledged in the 2014 Election Campaign, “to introduce a new style of leadership and management in Antigua and Barbuda,” has demonstrated that he is serious about his commitment to the people of Antigua and Barbuda. Despite the Governor-General refusing categorically to cooperate with plans for an open-air ceremony, Prime Minister Browne has made arrangements so that at 4:00pm on Wednesday (June 18), the Cabinet of Ministers will be sworn-in at Government House by the Governor-General in full view of thousands of persons at the ARG, via ABS, projected on large LED screens.

Following the non-preferred private ceremony at Government House, the Cabinet of Ministers are scheduled to make their way to the ARG for a ‘Public Ceremony’ where they will be presented before what is expected to be thousands of Antiguans and Barbudans waiting anxiously to see their new Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

The election of the new Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party Administration has sparked a feeling of unity between and among leaders from several CARICOM states. Prime Ministers: Roosevelt Skerrit of the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Right Honourable Dr. Keith Mitchell of Grenada, Cariacou and Petite Martinique, and the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil L. Douglas of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis have all confirmed their participation at the swearing in ceremony.

Organizers of the ‘Public Ceremony’ announced on Tuesday evening that all three visiting Prime Ministers have indicated a desire to deliver brief remarks ahead of the star of the moment, Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister, the Honourable Gaston Browne.

Attendees of the ‘Public Ceremony’ are expected to be entertained by local, cultural artistes.
