Cuban President Raul Castro Sends Congratulations to Prime Minister Browne

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda – 6th July 2014……..President of the Republic of Cuba, His Excellency Mr. Raul Castro Ruz has sent congratulations to newly elected Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda the Honourable Gaston Browne.

Delivering the message from President Castro was Foreign Minister of Cuba, His Excellency Mr. Bruno Rodriquez Parrilla, who was in Antigua and Barbuda for the 35th Meeting of the Conference of Heads of CARICOM and a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Browne.

Foreign Minister Parrilla noted that President Castro not only congratulates Prime Minister Browne on his election in Antigua and Barbuda, but also on him assuming the Chairmanship of the regional grouping CARICOM.

“Our nations have enjoyed many years of friendship and I would like to convey to you the President’s will to continue strengthening and expanding the friendly relations and cooperation between our sister nations,” Parrilla stated.

Foreign Minister Parrilla also extended an invitation from President Castro to Prime Minister Browne for him to make an official visit to the Republic of Cuba before the CARICOM/Cuba Summit in December of this year.
