BUZZ Features Yachting Sector

BUZZ Features Yachting SectorAntigua St John's - Antigua and Barbuda’s North American tourism offices have released the April issue of the A&B BUZZ, which covers the destination’s premier yachting industry.

Released just in time for the celebration of two major milestone sailing events -- the 25th anniversary of the Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta and the 45th anniversary of Antigua Sailing Week, the issue highlights some of Antigua & Barbuda’s strongest assets.

This includes spectacular sailing conditions, exceptional hospitality, a range of accommodations, dining options, nightlife, and 365 pristine white-sand beaches.

During the month of April, local and international interest in sailing is heightened, attracting sailors from all corners of the world.

High class marinas and servicing facilities and the Georgian history and architecture continue to appeal to yachts of all sizes from family cruisers to super and mega yachts. An already extensive racing programme covering classics and racing yachts has been enhanced with the challenging RORC Caribbean 600.

The issue appeals to professional sailors, novices, and spectators, and highlights many unique viewing spots and opportunities for non-sailors to follow the race or just feel the nautical vibe. There are chartered catamarans, a great vantage point from Shirley Heights and various trails, and even aerial views with Caribbean Helicopters.

US Director of Tourism Derede Samuel-Whitlock pledged her team’s continued support in promoting the yachting industry. “The yachting sector brings a certain level of style and cachet to our tourism product," she said. "The issue highlights our yachting events as major activities that help showcase our attractions, beaches, cuisine, music, and hospitality.”

The accommodations sector is also highlighted, as many sailors opt to spend some of their time ashore at a local resort.

Nonsuch Bay, one of the destination’s newest properties, offers year-round sailing classes and other nautical adventures. In "Take a Shoreside Break," a range of land-based attractions are featured, including adventures and dining options that allow visitors to experience Antigua & Barbuda.

The A&B BUZZ is a monthly online publication that provides a comprehensive overview of the destination’s key strengths and features product updates, special promotions, and industry news as a core part of the North American tourism offices’ digital strategy.

Presented in a lifestyle format, utilizing a multimedia combination of print, audio, video, and social media, The BUZZ reached hundreds of travel agents throughout North America.  Click on: www.issuu.com/antiguabuzz.
