As the former employees of Elle Colonna are kept waiting for their outstanding salaries and wages, the owners of the company have turned to new lawyers for advice.
Asquith Fearon, and now the chambers of Steadroy Benjamin and Co, are no longer handling the dispute on behalf of the CEO of Hodges Bay Estate Ltd, Lanny Smikle.
In their place, Sherfield Bowen has been brought in to represent the company against the union and former employees. Bowen, according to unconfirmed reports, is now in St Kitts handling a general election matter.
When contacted, Benjamin said he is still representing the interests of George Martin, the businessman seeking to take over the company.
But the attorney offered no assurance that the money being sourced to settle the outstanding payments to workers would be here this week.
