Blue Waters Hotel held its Annual Staff Awards on Monday, 28 March 2011 at the Waterfront Bar & Grill in Hodges Bay.  This popular staff event recognized the hotel’s most outstanding employees of 2010 while treating all to a festive party in celebration of the each person’s role in making Blue Waters such a popular holiday destination.

The General Manager, Alistair Forrest thanked every staff member for their contribution, noting that while only a few were selected as individual winners, all played a significant role in helping Blue Waters maintain its high standard of award-winning service (Leading Hotel in Antigua and Barbuda, 2010 World Travel Awards).

He also thanked them for giving the kind of personal attention and genuine hospitality that continues to inspire a large number of the hotel’s guests to return year after year.

The Perfect Attendance Award was presented to 25 staff members acknowledging their sterling performance along with 10 Awards for the Top Nominations from Guests; both were extremely well received with Carolyn Williams winning the most nominations from guests for the 11th year in a row. Additionally, the hotel honoured two of its longest serving members of staff, and in doing so, recognised their outstanding contribution to the well being and longevity of the hotel.

The first award went to Mrs. Inez Bartley, Executive Housekeeper and member of staff for more than 46 years, while the second was given to Ms. Veronica Williams who has worked with the hotel since the day it opened in 1960. In addition to their individual awards, the hotel recently honoured both ladies by renaming one of their restaurants to Bartleys, and their most popular pool bar to Veronicas



The other 2010 Winners were Omarie Samuel, (Runner Up – Best Smile, Heart of House); Alrick Mendez, (Best Smile, Heart of House); Derah Simon-Hunt, (Runner Up – Best Smile, Front of House); Sophia James (Best Smile, Front of House); Wendy Thomas (Runner Up – Most Improved, Front of House); Chaz Nicholas (Most Improved, Front of House); Wilodene George (Runner Up – Most Improved, Heart of House); Theo Dyett (Most Improved, Heart of House); Costello Francis (Runner Up – Employee of the Year – Heart of House); Rickford Benjamin (Employee of the Year – Heart of House); Sophia James (Runner Up – Employee of the Year – Front of House); Pearl Jno-Baptiste (Employee of the Year – Front of House); Alicia Christopher (Runner Up – Supervisor of the Year) and Pepe Weston (Supervisor of the Year).
