Antigua, St John's - Jack and Beryl Napper celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary jetskiing in the Dickenson Bay waters while vacationing at Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa.

Onlookers stared as the 83 and 84 year old had the time of their lives.

“We love Antigua and we have been coming here for 15 years because of the beautiful beaches and hospitable people who makes us feel like we are at home,” Mr Napper said.

“It has been a wonderful anniversary,” his wife added. "On March 15, we heard a knock on the door at our home in Cheltenham. I realised that it was a package being delivered, and when I opened it, I could not believe my eyes. It was a lovely card signed by Queen Elizabeth and she wished us a happy anniversary.”

With six children, 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild, the Nappers stay busy by travelling and keeping fit.

“My wife was a phenomenal athlete back in the day," Mr Napper said. "In fact, we used to shoot rabbits, and Beryl is the finest marksman with a rifle that I have ever seen. She never missed!”

When asked the secret to a marriage that has lasted six decades, Mrs Napper said, “Patience and love are crucial. He still makes me tea at 7 am daily, and he gives me flowers regularly.”

The Nappers have no intention of slowing down as long as their good health persists. “We know that Antigua has quite a few centenarians, and we are motivated to reach that pinnacle,” Mr Napper said.
