Clear waters wash gently onto the soft white sand, as a variety of uniquely shaped coconut palms line the shores of this perfect example of paradise. Only five or so miles from English Harbour and historic Nelson’s Dockyard, sunny Pigeon’s Point Beach is great for picnicking, sea-bathing, snorkeling and any other exciting beach-friendly activity. The surrounding area is abuzz with local wild-life and the like, but pigeons are not a usual fixture so I am not quite certain how it came to be called Pigeon’s Point Beach.
This beautiful, breath-taking beach is located on the southern side of the island and even to get there is an adventure in itself… over the hill past the Antigua Yacht Club, down the road shaded by lush tropical forestry. It is one of Antigua’s more private beaches and is the spot during the country’s annual Antigua Sailing Week.

Visitors and natives alike often take the opportunity to delve into delicious local dishes served at a cozy restaurant on the northern end of the beach called Bumpkins. If you choose to just sit back on the sand and take in the view, you may just see a Super Yacht or two cruising by, about to drop anchor at nearby Falmouth Harbour.
Take a drive to Pigeon’s Point Beach… there is a hammock under a tree waiting just for you!
