Antigua St John's - Sunday's kite spectacular in Barbuda was probably the biggest event on the island since Carabana. The organiser, Stanhope Shepherd, in conjunction with JHR Caribbean, provided 250 kites, together with an equal number of t-shirts, to the participants.
There was a BBQ, with plenty of food and drink, and a local DJ played tunes as the kites soared high above Barbuda's beautiful pink sand beach.
The owner of the Pink Sands beach bar provided the spectacular venue and the party went on well into the early evening.
During the day, Adam Barrett was introduced to Shawana, who is suffering from cerebral palsy. Her mother had been seeking financial aid for some time for a procedure in Barbados to assist Shawana with her disability.
