New Management for Stadium‬

New Management for Stadium‬Antigua St. John's - The Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium is now under new management.

In keeping with a decision of the Cabinet, management of the stadium, named in honour of our only living National Hero, Sir Vivian Richards KNH, OBE, has been transferred to the Ministry with responsibility for Sports with effect from January 1, 2013.

In this regard, all clients and service providers with existing arrangements to provide goods and or services to the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium are asked to contact the Ministry of Sports by Monday February 25, 2013 to discuss the status of the arrangements.

In particular and in preparation for the Antiguan Barbudan leg of the March 2013 West Indies vs Zimbabwe Cricket Tour all individuals, organizations and companies with lease arrangements for the Concession Booths and Hospitality Suites at the Stadium are also asked to contact the Ministry of Sports at 562 6227 before February 25, 2013 to discuss arrangements for the upcoming cricket matches.

The Management of the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium cannot guarantee any arrangement for persons or organizations not meeting the deadline to contact the Ministry of Sports by February 25, 2013. Concession Booths and Hospitality Suites not accounted for will be considered vacant and available for use by the Stadium Management.

The ministry is supposed to be reaching out to these clients and service providers - not the other way around. Well at least somebody paying attention to the "white elephant"

Now back to the ridiculous crime rate plaguing Wadadli .....

Wait. Is the Ministry of Sports admitting that they do not know who is renting from the stadium at the present moment? Wasn't there a board in place prior to 1st January, 2013? Wouldn't that board have provided report(s) on their stewardship to the Minister? Wouldn't those reports contain such information as contracts negotiated?

I hate to repeat cliches, but this just another one of those things coming from the UPP Administration that makes you go "Hmmm".
