Fierce Competition for Warriors Youth CupAntigua St. John’s – A number of teams prevailed in their quest for the Youth Cup in the Warriors Cup 2012 tournament which got underway last Thursday.

In the Under 13 Division matches played on August 9, Pares overcame Young Germans 5 goals to 1. Scorers were Dandre Gayle, 2, Shemar Weekes, 2, Orain Carr for Pares, and Jalique Browne Young Warriors.

Also in the U13, Sap went under to Villa Lions 3 – 1. Scorers for Villa Lions were Anderson Hubert, Terique Browne, Iplin O’keefe and for Sap, Joel Martin.
 
The final U13 matchup between Young Warriors and Blizzard ended in a 2 – 2 draw. Scorers for Young Warriors were Karique Knight and Tajah Morton and scoring for Blizzard were Tequane Harris and Britney Hector.
 
In Under 15 Division, Stingray City Seaglans scored 2 goals while their opponents Young Warriors failed to get off the mark with Jamal Simon and D’Jare Giddings finding the back of the net for Stingray City Seaglans; Earthquakes and Pares Panthers FC drew 1 – 1 and the Scorers were Earthquakes’ Shaquan Charles and Pares’ Jawazu Locker.
 



Also in U15, Villa Lions were able to net 3 to Liberta’s 0 – scorers were Kwame Kirby, Fari Thomas, and Shemoy Rhodes (own goal); and Young Warriors trounced Blizzard 6 – 0. Scoring were Isiah Thomas (2), Jahmali Smith, Garfield Thomas, Tajah Morton, and Tyrique Benjamin.
 
There were four games played in the Under 17 Division with the results as follows: Sap 2, Urlings 1 with scorers for Sap being Emmerson Henry and Jabari Simon, and K. Francis for Urlings; Old Road 6, Herberts United 1, the Scorers for Old Road were Roy York (3), Kyan London (2), and Argell London, with Rashawn Henry getting the lone goal for Herberts.
 
Akielo Andre of Villa Lions scored 1 goal against Young Cubans’ 0; and CPTSA Wings and Earthquakes ended on a 2 all draw. Scorers in this encounter were Wings’ Gerald Williams and Rashawn Looby, while Earthquakes’ Dwayne Lavonn found the goal twice.
