Caribbean T20 Shifted to Antigua

Caribbean T20Antigua St John's - The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has shifted the preliminary round of the Caribbean Twenty20 from the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad to Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds in Antigua.

The change was because of high rental fees for the Queen’s Park Oval, and its unavailability on January 14.

The changes to the schedule are as follows:

1.   The matches on January 11 and 19 have been switched. This ensures that Leeward does not have a bye while playing at home.

2.   The matches on January 9 have been switched. This switch allows Leeward Islands and Guyana to play the feature match at 8 pm.

3.   The matches now slated for January 19 have been switched. This allows Guyana to play the feature match at 8 pm.
All matches will be broadcast live on ESPN.

Three overseas teams Netherlands, Canada and Sussex will compete against seven Caribbean teams, with the highest placed Caribbean team going on to represent the region in the Nokia Champions League.

The 10 teams have been placed in two groups:

Group A: Trinidad and Tobago, Windward Islands, Guyana, Leeward Islands, and Canada
Group B: Jamaica, Barbados, Combined Campuses and Colleges, Netherlands, and Sussex

No short sighted view to this thing

Honestly one might be tempted to believe that's the case. However the facility and the country gains exposure. Think hotel rroom orr guest room occupancy and many other forms of residual spending

Lately it seems our Sir Viv cricket ground has become a stand by facility for the WICB.
