JCI Antigua erected a promised billboard on Saturday along lower All Saints Road, culminating the first phase of its “Drive Responsibly” campaign. The billboard urges drivers not to be distracted by eating, talking on the phone, or applying makeup.
A release said, "JCI Antigua hopes that motorists will heed the message of the billboard and that all will make a conscious effort to make our roadways safer for everyone."
The campaign included a public service announcement produced by Chosen Sounds studio and featuring the voice of local artiste Lee P Ching.
Members of the committee also made radio appearances to inform the public about the campaign and share the importance of being careful and considerate while driving.
JCI Antigua thanked the following corporate sponsors for their donations: Hadeed Motors, Harney Motors, West Indies Oil Company, Spencers’ Service Centre, Automotive Art, GProductions, Sign Com, Bargain Centre, Unique Architectural Designs, F& G Trading and Williams & Associates. The committee also acknowledged the Greenaway brothers (Max, Neiten & Febuly) for their efforts to get the billboard up.
“Alert today-Alive tomorrow” is the message JCI Antigua wishes to leave with motorists.
