Jesus Party Planned Bigger, Better

Jesus PartyAntigua St John's - The organisers of the annual Jesus Party event have promised patrons nothing but the same dynamic production experienced in previous years.

The concert brings people together from the Caribbean region to celebrate God’s goodness and mercies.

This year, Jesus Party will be held under the theme, “The Takeover,” on August 26 at Paradise Lawn, the official home of the event.

Chief organiser Mario "DJ Bless" Connor, the brains behind Kingdomsoundz Ministries, said, “We are planning an event that will foremost give God the praise and glory for all his benefits to us as a twin-island nation, while at the same time promote the artistic abilities of the Christian community”.

Connor added that, “We as children of God have every reason to use our gifts and talents for activities that will be beneficial to God’s Kingdom, and hence the reason for organising this event every year.”  He admitted that while there are many challenges associated with the concert, such as sponsorship, nothing comes without a challenge, and he is encouraged by the overwhelming support from the public and the support from fellow believers in Christ.

The artistes lineup for the 5th installment of Jesus Party 2k11- includes Sherwin Gardner (Trinidad), Jermaine Edwards (Jamaica), DA-Jay (Jamaica), Que (Trinidad), Abby-K (U.S.A), From Antigua Pure Life, Rev Jameel Lee, Naycha Kid, Christ Family, Kirkland McKay, Jasper, Chainbreakers, Marlon Myers and MAD For Christ, and several others.

The organisers issued a batch of Early Bird tickets on August 1 for $15.  The special ends on August 15, when tickets will cost $25 at Flo’s Perfumery, Map Shop, Cool & Smooth, and Will City.

A group special is available for 10 people or more for $15 each. For more info call 268-720-7743/268-720-7745/268-771-8202/268-771-5010.

Moneymaking Scheme

#7 Slythatguy » 2011-08-07 12:06

The idea is to exploit people's belief.Get a large croud of avid christians to come to the "Jesus Party" and charge them $25 "to celebrate God's goodness and mercies."If you ever noticed that worshiping God is looking more and more like regular show business, with break dancing and synchronizing acts,it's because it's done to entertain and hold the interest of young people rather edify them.If you're a true servant of God and he blessed you with house, land, car, and money ,use some or all of it to pay for these concerts, don't charge people as if the gospel is for sale.

A Sevant of Christ

I think you have lost the point that I am trying to make. Christianity was taken to Africa by the white man to control the African people, they thought that the black tribes were uncivilised.... ...walking the bush without any clothes, so the white man dressed them and tought them christianity... .....the white man's ways of what god and jesus should be. No disrespect ,but in Antigua black people are living by the white man's ways , they have forgotten their roots.....their African ways .....their god's ,before the white man came with christianity.

Delusional

Dax Rebel & Coopin are correct, but reality is sometimes quite difficult to accept for people blinded by a dogmatic mindset. I recall hearing a tea party republican claiming on CNN that the bible was originally printed in English. My spouse sarcastically chirped in with; "I'm suprised she didn't say it was originally printed in American". We laughed at the stupendous lack of any coherant intelligence and concluded that some of these folks just love their own delusions. I can't wait till someone tells them that Jesus was actually a Jew.

"Dax Rebel" and "Coopin" you are both missing the whole point of the article. Those who are truly filled with God's Spirit couldn't care less how "man" portrays Him. All we care about is that "His" message gets across and that we live the life that "He" calls us to live. Peace.

2 Timothy 2:14
Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.

2 Timothy 2:23:
"Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful."

Disgusting practice

#2 Dax Rebel » 2011-08-05 09:25

Why is it that Jesus is always portrayed as a white individual with blue eyes? Naturally, there will be screams of ‘it really doesn’t matter if he is blue, white, yellow or black’, which is hypocritical, and nothing but a face serving comment. The fact that he is always portrayed as Caucasian says something about us as a people. Most of us are nothing but self-haters, who think that it would be disrespectful to have a caricature of Jesus as a black male or female. Have mercy!

Jesus

#1 Coopin » 2011-08-05 06:02

Why is it that everytime you see a picture of Jesus, It is always a picture of this pritty white man with long stright hair. Jesus was not a european,he was from Africa.......al so they say,(the books) he had dread locks, does that not make him a black man !!! So , I think it is about time for change......... ....when you go into a house of God, the church , there should be pictures of a black Jesus on the walls and also on the cross, specially in country's such as Antigua and Africa ???

Please give some positive feedback, thank you .
