A Nation Encounter With A New Way

A New WayAll things are possible to him that believes. There are many strange pronouncements in the Holy Scriptures. Believers in Jesus Christ must be prepared to face contradictions and ridicule when they endeavor to pursue a life of faith.

It is with an undaunted faith in an unchanging GOD, who is unfailing with his “Divine Promises”, that I as a follower of the “Lonely Nazarene”, who is also the “Conquering Lamb”, endeavored to pursue a path in the political arena that was never pursued in Antigua & Barbuda before, and until now I have not heard attempted under a democratic banner anywhere on earth. This project is to gather a group of “Christian Leaders” who will serve as an oversight group of a Patriotic Democratic Movement, that will coach and help seventeen (17) men and women who are committed to upright, honest and moral governance in Antigua & Barbuda.

Looking at the odds of achieving success with natural talent, acumen, human resources and determination, gives one a feeling of futility. But with forty seven (47) years (forty eight (48) by January 2010) as a “Believer in the World’s Number One (1) Miracle Worker: Jesus Christ, the Son of God”; I feel a surge of confidence and a ”Strength of Purpose” that I can literally taste when I speak to the Heavenly Father of the potential of this now endeavor.

Each time I ask an individual: “Are you a Patriot?” and look in their eyes, there is an intoxicating feeling of victory. Every person I have asked that question is either put on the spot or kept on the spot. Whether they are a patriot in commitment and lifestyle, they feel compelled to answer in the affirmative or to keep silent. I am convinced of the “Guiding Hand of the Divine” in every step of getting this movement up and running.

The hardworking and faithful core of volunteers that have gathered around me to encourage, support, identify with, help and sacrifice to see this movement take over the reins of leadership and governance in our nation; is energizing and can even become intoxicating if the mantle of humility is overlooked. Day by day I must continually be reminded of the Biblical truth: “Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall”. The fact remains that there is a feeling of confidence and assurance that Antigua and Barbuda will awake and arise to follow the Path of Peace, Progress and Prosperity. The clarion call goes out to men and women of goodwill in this nation. “Gird your loins and join the battle”, be ready to do your part to see true democracy prevail in our nation: working for the good of all.

In short I want to use this opportunity at the “Dawn of a New Year” to rally all who love GOD and this country to join with me to see the spirit of patriotism flourish in our nation, clothed in honesty and integrity.

Dear Reader, you may ask: “Where does this contagious confidence originate? Sure and simple the answer is in GOD’s unfailing Word, the Bible. Read and study carefully the following words of Jesus:

(Mark 9: 23); “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

(Matthew 19:26); “With men this is impossible, but with GOD all things are possible”

(Mark 10:27); “With men it is impossible, but not with GOD: for with GOD all things are possible”

(Luke 18:27); “The things that are impossible with men are possible with GOD”

My fellow patriots, that’s the kind of stuff that fortifies and energies me!

In closing I must entreat you to join in fasting every Friday of January 2010. This fasting should be observed by each individual in a way that pleases GOD accordingly to your personal knowledge and ability. Time must be set aside to read and meditate on GOD’s Word and talk to GOD about our personal relationship with him and those around us. Fasting involves abstinence of food, drink and pleasure as individuals devote time to soul searching and pursuing the will of GOD as revealed in his word and the quickening conscience.

Later in the year there will be a gathering for some of the forty (40) days of prayer and fasting. Indeed I implore you dear reader: Join this national encounter with a new way. You can get in touch with us at 785-5796 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Our next meeting will be at the Pastoral Centre (formerly Benjies Printery, Michaels Mount), 7:00pm, Thursday 7th January 2010. All are welcomed. May the New Year be a blessed one for everyone and our nation.

RE: Chaplain Moore
I couldn't agree with you more on some of the more obious conflict of interest issues that you pointed out and I would hope that these are things in which they understand they need to seriously consider. As you said you either have a theocratic or a democratic government, either that or a flat out dictatorship. So the all important question for Dorsett and company will be which one? What we trully need as a nation is morality and virtue, this is the path we should be leading towards. So if elected are they going to ban alcohol, cigarettes etc., what about any music or media which they do not deem as being wholesome? We need morality and virtue, religion only opens a can of worms that cannot be closed.

P.S. I believe in the same God as well! In case one may think I was too critical.

If you feel Rwanda is not a good example visit Northern Ireland. Where Catholics and Protestants now have an unquenchable hate for each other. It all happened because of politics!

Moral People who love God

#6 Chaplain Moore » 2009-12-31 02:40

5). I put it to you with all respect I can garner, there are moral people who love God with all their hearts inside and outside of the church. In fact their only reason for not being in the church is our very behavior that we condemn others for doing. There are moral Jews, Hindus, Muslim, you name it in our society today. This country needs morality and vision, not religion. God loves every citizen of this country and wants to meet them in his kingdom. He does not want us to divide them into our human categories, thus creating strife, hate and segregation. Just take a trip to Rwanda, and others and just listen to their story and you will learn a tremendous lesson that will allow you to reconsider you course of action.

Irreversible Problems

#5 Chaplain Moore » 2009-12-31 02:30

4). Christianity by nature is disciminatory. God chose a nation, led them out of bondage and told them to wipe all the 'Goyums' out of their way as they travelled to their promised land. How will you treat the Goyums or Gentiles who do not wish to conform to the tenets of your God and my God. Your party by the very pronouncement of 'Christian' is discriminating against non-Christians. What about the Muslims forming their own party in Antigua and winning and elections and propose 'Sharia.' Will that be okay for you? Or what about the muslim or Bhuddist who meet the legal requirements and just want to be in your party...

God's Party has to be Infallible

#4 Chaplain Moore » 2009-12-31 02:22

4). It is okay to label a political party as a 'Christian party",but with the Christian connotation there are unreachable expectations. God will be ridiculed when staff are retrenched, when the salaries cannot be met, when you say no to non-Christians. By the way, how will you respond to the qualified person who happens to atheist, but wants a job in your office and does not want to pray? Or the homosexual citizen who is entitled under the constitution to equal rights and justice? While your intetions are noble and all believers would like to live in Utopia, there are potential irreversable problems in your course of action...

3). Are you thinking of establishing a theocratic government or a democratic government? In other jurisdictions the name of God is used a selling factor. So that God is seen as a trusting factor, responsible for its citizen's bounty- good or bad. Are you thinking of using God's name as a marketing tool to win the hearts of the faithful and then as in George Orwell's Animal Farm become the metaphoric pig claiming unequivocally "I am in charge."The question is: who will be incharge of your Government. Will God be responsible for your party's errors? Not to be fasicious. Will we need a prophet as your go-to person between God and man? On a more serious note though...

2). I am also fully aware of the obvious political corruption that exist in this present and past administration. I am acutely concerned about the present state of our economy and the uncertain future of our children. However, my concerns are in regard to the structure and nature of a Christian party, and if successful, Government. In some jurisdictions in North East Africa (now coined the Middle East by European Imperialist Governments that once occupied the territories for racial and political reasons) there are theocratic governments that function with a council of Imams or Rabbis...

Few Questions for My Colleague and Fellow Labourer under God.

#1 Chaplain Moore » 2009-12-31 01:56

1). I too am fully cognizant of the powerful influence that God Spirit imposes on bearers of his divine intervention in the course of human history in order to fulfill divine mandates. I am also very aware of the urgency one feels once touched by God's Holy Spirit to accomplish such tasks. Such an urgency is created that not even the facts from the corridors of history become reliable statistics. I believe you have placed this present urgent matter before God in prayer and fasting, so, my concerns do not center around your motivation or God's response- for some things will only happen through prayer and fasting...
