The Antigua Labour Party will be staging a march and rally dubbed “Deliverance" on Thursday 5th of March in St John's.
Supporters will move off from Michael’s Mount, and through the streets of St John's, culminating at the Rising Sun Grounds with a political rally.
Deputy Political Leader of the ALP Gaston Browne says the event will address the high levels of crime, high taxation, high cost of living, unemployment ratio, a dilapidated education system and corruption.
Brown says the ALP’s mantra is to deliver the citizenry from the bondage of social ills affecting the twin-island state.
Meanwhile, the UPP’s "big blue wave" will crash through the Villa area with a public meeting, where the basis of the decision to recall Parliament will be explained.
Spokesman Leon Symister said, “It would be the height of irresponsibility to wait several weeks before acting. We must move now to protect the people of Antigua & Barbuda.”
With just 16 more days before general elections 2009 both major parties have heightened their campaign efforts.
