Antigua St. John's - Administration glitches are said to be at the centre of the delay in confirming Alister Thomas as the country's new Information Commissioner.
Thomas' appointment was due to take effect on August 15, but sources have told Caribarena this may instead happen this week or later.
Thomas is still awaiting his Instruments of Appointment. When contacted he said he is reserving comment on the matter.
The information commissioner would be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act of 2004.
This Act seeks to make information easily accessible, thereby improving the transparency of government.
