Common Sense folks

#162 MYDB » 2013-03-01 23:07

First off my prayers are with the family for their loss. Secondly, everyone who love to claim that it has to be a foreigner and we should get rid of them is obviously lacking in common sense. So you mean to tell me that all of the Antiguans overseas including US, UK and Canada and that every time a crime is committed in one of those countries they should deport the Antiguans because they are foreigners? True that historically Antiguans has not been violent but violence is learned and we are living in a time where it is ever increasing... so what we're invincible? We should have some sort of breed of perfect people that exist no where else. I do agree we should start hanging again. And police need to get on their job. And Baldwin has to go. But as VC Bird said... if we don't have foreigners then we would all be screwing around with our family members on this little island. How much people you friends with to find out you actually related. I've had some friends who dated cousins and didn't know. Give me a break. God bless Antigua we're still the best.

My one observation in this and similar incidents, the first thing out of people's mouths is "where is the church, where are the Christians?" and as a Christian that DOES bother me for one of several reasons.
(Let me say it in dialect) - You live your everyday life, you na want nobody tell you bout God. Cause you feel God go cramp your style. You want to live life they way YOU want it. But then as soon as a tragedy strikes, its "where's the church and where is God".
God hasn't moved. God hasn't changed. He is right there waiting for US to turn to HIM. If each one, every person, serve Jesus, live for Him every single day, we will have less evil and less persons pointing the fingers outward and instead would ask what could "I" have done to prevent the spread of evil. Are Christians infallible, no. Can we be a catalyst for change, yes. Can we do it alone? No... you can join us and help in the fight.

To the island of Antigua and Barbuda the devil walked into Heritage Quay on the day in question and murdered the young mom. All I can say at this time is to leave all our rage and anger in the hands of the LORD for he will give revenge for revenge is of The Lord. We should pray listen and ask him for solutions in this matter. May this young mom rest in peace.

It is so sad to see where Antigua is heading.I just can't understand that a terrible crime like this happen in bright day light in a popular area like Heritage Quay without any eye witness. I believe if this incident would have happen to high profile family member someone would have being in custody already. To the young lady and her family may the good LORD keep your heart and soul and mind in place. MAY HER SOUL REST IN PEACE.

#157 dadli » 2013-02-27 15:16

So my once beautiful little island has gone the way of the Wild West huh?!
What I'm constantly reading about Antigua is just plain ridiculous. I am a police office with a Canadian police agency and I'd seriously love to have a sit down with the Antiguan police heads and law makers about shooting some ideas, strategies and learning how to effectively pool resources.

As a child growing up in Antigua all this violence was virtually unheard of. Like another poster said if a murder occurred it was highly unusual and had the entire country on edge. This island needs to be reclaimed from the criminals before this ship sets sail!

May this woman rest with the Lord may he bring love and peace to her babies, friends and family. As a tourist who comes to Antigua from London often, I can say hand on heart I was there in Jan this year and hate to say I didnt feel safe at all, but feel safe in the rough parts of London that makes me sad as I love Antigua and the people. I believe the root of this is these guns coming in from the sea, all sea ports need more security. Cant imagine guns coming via air as all international airports have scanners. My condolences to the famil of the victim of this terrible crime. I keep asking the question: What is the problem of policing 108sq ml of ANU? It seems that the gun man have more freedom to commit crime than its citizens. I am deeply hurt at the deterioration of our socity. When I was a child, the most that would have been stolen was a radio. If there was a murder, it was unusual. We need to tackle this lawlessness and criminality on all fronts. They include # 1Job Creation - if the youth have no money then they will steal, # 2 Youth Training #3 Some kind of allowance for those who take up a trade,# 4 more police on the streets #5 Educate the people to know the damage they are causing to their fellow citizen and the tourist industry,#6 Stiffer sentences but with rehabilitation or else they only come out worse # 7 Neighbourhood watch policing,#8 Return of family values.....I could go on and on. In regards to the Govenment, PLEASE consult the ex SuperCop & Former Police Commissioner of NY BILL (WILLIAM) BRATTON, as they did in the UK. I hope that this lady's life and all the others, would not be lost in vain.........RI P Susan!

#153 Disgusted » 2013-02-27 02:07

I scanned a few of the comments here, and one of the things I immediately observed was instead of one seeing expressions of condolences for the family of this woman - yet again another senseless act of gun violence against women in Antigua and Barbuda - I'm seeing some really incredible insensitive comments. It's as though the person against whom this heinous crime was committed does not exist, and the value of a life lost had significant value. The commentary one reads is platform for a religous prayer meetings, calls to embrace xenophobia etc. I find this utterly shameful!!! What we should be doing is creating meaningful discourse, and in so doing calling upon civic groups to take action to stem this onslaught of violent crimes which has taken Antigua and Barbuda hostage. Most importantly, we should be posing serious questions to the people charged with our security and safety. Until these and other issues are addressed and remediated, the other mothers, daughters, sisters, and this woman's death will never get the TRUE justice it really deserves. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

This is side effects of mindless decisions if not deliberate. Who are the known importers of guns into the Country Government or any one else must give account for the where about of each and every gun and bullets, it’s their responsibility. Guns are agents of Death and GENERATION X'S with a gun in your hand Fair is absent in his world and they feel the entire country will at His mercy. Unless sacrifices are made and even though we don't trust our Police officers we must give them the latitude and the power to T.A.K.E these weapons away. Hate to say it but this Government's decision to Sack the FORCE OF IT IN'TEL'LIGENCE SHOULD NOT BE OVER LOOKED. My condolence goes out to the family of the victim, she is one of many more; without a rapid responds, all these Gun Men are well known to most low level criminals and if the Police knows about interrogation they can get information from them.( a special Force make up of trusted Police And Soldiers that can send a death wish message to these criminals). Families found sheltering the criminals where weapons are found must be made to pay a price.

Antigua's current crime rate over the past few months, is far from simply an adverse result of *poverty*. Empty pockets never held anyone back, Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that. The overall result of such cognition, will benefit no one, for these instances of crime, there is not 1 solution that must be implemented but several on both a psychological and a social premise. one must change societies view point before they can expect any kind of drastic law, or sanction to work to it's full effect. this blame game gets no one, no where.

My condolence to the family. Hate speech got us into this mess about separating sheep from goat, now we continue to otter hatred blaming foreigner and anyone but ourselves. It’s time for us to stop being so passive and reactivity to everything. Why can’t we as supposedly free people take a proactive stand against crime, corruption, the selling of our passport and anything else we are against and hold the people we pay to govern and protect us to account for their stewardship and if we find their tenure wanting then we jail who needs jailing and replace who needs replacing and keep who needs keeping. So what do we do, Sit back pray and wait?I do believe in prayer, and pray often, but the same bible says" Faith without works is dead" ,the bible also tells us to Occupy until he comes" We therefore must make wise decisions and choices while here on earth, and must hold accountable those we entrust and pay to run our affairs. The bible speaks of wisdom,we should not be like lambs to the slaughter, this is the real world, the Govt has neglected the most vulnerable in society for far too long, while creating a divided society of the haves and haves not. This is the price we are now paying.

Time to resign Brown/Errol, Shame on the men of the cloth #2

#136 Observer » 2013-02-26 21:59

And what do we see here. A lot of window dressing and self-praising from the Minister how well they did fighting crime last year. To everyone’s surprise . According to their analysis they had a reduction in crime. When everywhere women across the island were raped and men and women robbed. Many of these instances are not reported for shame of people knowing your business. Rape is the most horrible thing that can happen to a woman. And especially and elder women. Some are completely losing their mind to see that this is happening to them in their old mature age. I happen to know at least two such women. Antiguan are living in fear for some time now. First it was fear of victimization and now its fear of being robbed/killed or rape. What says you bishop/priest/f ather/brother of the cloth. Still silent about the ills in our society. Shame on you. Shame on you. Shame on you. God Bless.

When you cannot do the job you should not wait until someone fires you, you should have the decency and the humility to reflect on your own record and be honest and resign with your head up high. No one will hold that against you. But it seems that our elected officials are to proud to do the right thing. That is why Mrs. Christopher was so unceremoniously sacked. Mr. Brown is awaiting the same faith. I beg him to set a new president. Don't wait to be sacked. Resign out of your own will. You don't seem to be able to address the crime issue. Whatever the reason is. The box stops with you, thereafter the Minister. Trinidad was plagued with real terror and what did the Prime Minister Kamala did. She declared a state of emergency for parts of the country and dealt the criminals a hard blow. These are tough decisions but one has to take them in order to fight this rising crime. By all means necessary.

Is it a domestic matter? We don't know.
Is it a robbery matter? We don't know.
Will the investigators find the killer?
We can only hope so, but we don't know.
What we do know is that most of these crimes, if not all,
are committed by young men.
Lots of young men in Antigua
don't have jobs and so they turn to criminal activities.
Now lets look to the future.
How are we raising our little boys?
Are they been thought to do without?
Are they been thought to be productive citizen?
Are the going to school every day with parents involvement?
Are they been raised in real family setting with a husband and wife as their
parents or a daddy who have kids with a different women in every village?

The police and politicians can only do so much.
But the first guidance of a child come from home.
Lets start taking care of the little things now.
Otherwise, this will get worst.

RIP.
I can only pray that it will not not happen to anyone else. Sad!!

My deepest condolences to the family of 38 years old woman and mother of five. This is someone's granddaughter, daughter, and mother. No amount of words can express my anger and frustration with this senseless killing and all the gun-related crimes plauging the land. Sadly, this shooting came around the one year anniversay of the death of 39-year old Gas Station Attendant, at Dee's Service Station, Miss Dorothy Prince, who was shot during a robbery by masked-men. How many more mothers must be killed, before we take action and root out crime?

Pray!

#131 trine » 2013-02-26 20:49

Enough is enough . complaining about the police and the gouverment has not changed anything - nothing! .. the murders, robbery and the killings keeps on.

My prayer is that the people of Antigua get a touch from heaven, so they start praying for their country as it were their own lives. If you have a Bible:

2.Chronicles 7:14 ..seek the Lord, repent, ..He will hear your preayer and heal the land

1.Timothy 2:1-4 Pray for Kings, goverment, high positions ..so you shall have peace -and the Lord wants every human to be saved (it doesn´t mean that you have to be agree with them ..just pray for them -that is what the Holy Bible ask us to do)

In Norway, we had this situation in the summer of 2011 that a wicked man shot and killed nearly 70 people at a politilcal youth camp . and the nation were shocked ... now you have one by one gun points and killings in your country - and all the comassion in the world, all the R,I.P. - it doesn´t change anyting

"With ALL the residents and tourist that come and go around Heritage Quay one would think that some sort of security would be there for everyones safety."...Stop the Killing, I second your motion...I've been saying that the government needs to invest in street cameras especially around Heritage Quay. A mask man can walk into a business, high day, shot a hard working woman in her head and disappear in thin air...this is unacceptable. The fact that the government is doing nothing to reduce the crime rate on the country, then business and homeowner have to take matters in their own hands to protect yourself...this is a electronic store, with no camera installed. Employers needs to invest in protecting the employees. There are monitoring cameras that can be monitored from any location, your home, your cellphone, your computer...keep a watch on your business and home from any location. Drastic measures calls from drastic actions and this is the time for drastic action. This woman's life must be the wind that get everyone moving towards doing something to stop this kind of crime to continue to happen in Antigua undetected.

Say I love politics. But we have a NO brain government and representatives . We need serious leaders who can lead us in the right direction. They are sitting back and doing nothing, and allowing full-time criminals to take over our little paradise. smfh Aagin say I love pilitics. What have become of all the investors that were spoken about by the UPP? Again, say I love politics. We got to talk politics when our economy is at ground bottom and young people who have been leaving school every year cant find jobs. Again say I love poloitics. The system is corrupt because politics in Antigua is a friend and firend business and NOT about the right people who is competent to do the work. Again say I love politics. I dont care which poilitician give me land and house, but if they are not doing a job that will benefit all, it makes no sense lending me. I am NOT an ALP OR UPP , I just need to see a better Antigua and Barbuda.

#115 Jumbee Picknee » 2013-02-26 18:47

The disease, called crime has been spreading from the Halls of the Judiciary, Parliament, the Church, the Streets, for decades, therefore, it's no surprise that the Nation is experiencing this plague called crime.
Again, crime is a disease and like aids, many have caught it.

2 Chronicles 7:14 Says- If My people which are called by My name , shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

We can blame every politician, every police officer but that will not bring back a precious life that was taken senselessly. What we need to do is every one of us get down on our knees and earnestly pray for a change.

Only GOD can save us. Even if we arm our selves with guns more husbands and fathers will be taken away because the criminals are only going to come with a stronger intent to kill . PRAYER CHANGES THINGS.

May GOD comfort your family my sister. R.I.P.

LETS GET RID OF THE GUNS

#113 Beanie Man » 2013-02-26 18:37

What a tragedy. Let us consider: no illegal guns = very few shootings. No gun dealers = few illegal shootings - so lock illegal gun dealers up and throw the key away for the mass murderers they are, and severely restrict legal gun ownership, before Antigua gets like USA. After the Dunblane school shooting tragedy many years ago, UK banned all civilian owned hand guns over a certain calibre, even for target shooting club enthusiasts, and put in place big jail sentences for being found in possession of an unregistered weapon or even having a registered one in the wrong place. A person is 40 (yes 40!) times less likely, per head of population, to be killed by a gun in UK than in USA - yet Americans think guns keep them safe - yeah, sure, and it just happens USA makes many of these guns - go figure, as they say? No guns = no gun crime, so please, let's take all possible steps to get rid of the illegal guns.

We Are ALL Responsible

#110 Easy answer » 2013-02-26 18:21

When any violence occurs in our country, we can all be held liable. It is our duty to speak to others, to look out for others, to seek help from each other and HELP each other.

If we want to blame politicians, then lets DO something about it.

If we want to blame foreigners, then lets allow only those that help the economy to enter.

If we want to blame guns, then LETS GET RID OF THE GUNS.

If we want to blame our police, then lets train our police properly, or get outside help.

The alternative is just us living 100 years behind the rest of the world, with refusal to advance.

What do we need to do? Its time to motivate ourselves and everyone around us. If you dont want to help, then GOD will have his own plans for you.

Fix the Government then fix the people

#109 mad as hell » 2013-02-26 18:13

It all stems down to our corrupt as hell government and the few families paying them off. Fix them, then we can fix Antigua. No need for violence, but if our government wasn't corrupt, then there wouldn't be people getting shot in one of the most important locations for our country's economic status.

First person that disagrees is probably cashing out at our citizens' expense. Watch

SHOOTING AT HERITAGE QUAY

#104 Stop the Killings! » 2013-02-26 17:40

Gosh! Just a thought! Isn't there ANY CTV camera's in St.Johns, as its suppose to be the capital of Antigua. With ALL the residents and tourist that come and go around Heritage Quay one would think that some sort of security would be there for everyones safety.

So that when senceless acts of violence like this happen to innocence hard working people, all the police need to do is take a look at the camera, identify then FIND this animal and go and have him locked up PERMANENTLY, its not rocket science....The violence in Antigua has got out of control, and is spoiling what was once a very beautiful Island.

I can't even begin to think of what her children and family must be going through right now! My heart and prays goes out to them at this awfully sad time.

That's the only way we will help to stop the criminals. It could have been your sister, niece, cousin, aunt, woman, wife or friend. Today its her, who will it be tomorrow? This is a very sad day in the life of Antigua and Barbuda....But you know something.....W e have a big problem in this country and no one is looking at it.
Go anyday to the magistrate's court and you will see the amount of young men, many of them have not even lost their baby features.... yet they are appearing to answer charges of a serious nature..... and for many it is like a joke....We need to implement a national service... to deal with the youth....if not we are going to be overrun by criminals.....A nd we also need to look at the whole question of parenting....Th ese guys just don't care...We need to become more proactive when it comes to crime .We need to find out where all these guns are coming from......We need more
police to infiltrate the gangs.....aroun d the country.... by getting the necessary intelligence... . We have too many of our cops moonlighting instead of doing police work.... but who cares......For the amount of money being spent on the Police force We citizens need better security.

We have to be careful with the conclusions that we draw without having all the facts. Do we know for sure this was an attempted robbery? Could it have been something domestic? Could it be someone she was familiar with? I guess we have to await the details as the investigation goes on. We can only pray though that the pervasiveness of gun crimes, and any crime for that matter, abates in our country. We have to pray strength for her family during this time.

2 Chronicles 7:14 says "If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land. Just a simple question; has the church truly repented? Is our society as God fearing as we often state cause these criminals are a part of the society, part of families who condone these deviant behaviours and operate as normal. My sympathies to the family of the young lady, God will give comfort and peace. A wide cross section of the country is looking to our leaders for help but they need help themselves they a most likely just afraid like us. Our only solution comes from above. God alone can help us. I believe that if our nation truly becomes repentant then answers will come. In this time instead of seeking to lay blame, let us fall on our knees before God Almighty.

Proper sentences needed for murder

#82 happycamperni » 2013-02-26 16:14

It took the Antiguan Courts four years to convict the murderer of Drew Gollan a yacht captain who was murdered in front of his fiance and baby child. The perpetrator got 22 years. What is that telling the people of Antigua? Gun crime isn't taken seriously. This man set out to rob and was willing to use a gun and he will get out of jail in time to live his life. There is a child with out a father. And now there are children with out their mother. If you commit murder the least you should get is life.

How could someone be able to fire a gun shot at 1:30 pm in Heritage Quay and get away???

Was there nobody around the store or Heritage Quay at all? Nobody saw where this person took off to or how he looked? Most importantly ... was there no police in or around Heritage Quay at 1:30pm? Heritage Quay doesn't have security guards? Something is seriously wrong here!!!

Now don't get me wrong because this young ladies life or any local's life is just as important ... but can you imagine the international headlines if it was a tourist from one of the cruise ships that got shot?

If you go to police headquarters or St Johns police staion at 1:30 pm you will see all kinds of officers walking around doing NOTHING!!! Send them on the road to patrol!!! What good are they doing by staying at the police station chatting all day???

There is all this dialogue about the Citizens Investment Program. We need to remember that the first responsibility of any government is to protect the people. Today has turned up a notch in the lawlessness in the country. We have so much task force that has been set up to implement strategies to fight crime. How many "new" initiatives has been implemented since this task force was established. They have been doing stop-and-search , has that helped? No. We have been doing this since I know myself. It is NOT enough. How many lives must be taken before the government see it necessary to have the defense force patrol the streets daily. What are they doing at Camp Blizzard that is so much more important than assisting the police daily on the streets. As far as I know we haven't fought a war since World War II. Some might speak about our tourist and citizens being intimidated, but I prefer to be intimidated than being shot innocently. If you don't have any criminal intentions then you should have no fear of military presence. There are other Caribbean territories that have military presence in the capital daily. The thing is our government refuses to do this because we sell our country as a crime-free destination so there is no need for military presence. However, the reality is, there is a significant surge in crime and acts such as this one today with cruise passengers present is proving the contrary.

This is over-bearing now. The police cannot be everywhere but they need to do more patrols. On Saturday night, I travelled through town once and made 2 trips to the east of the island and not once did I pass a marked police vehicle or see an officer on foot. In places like Puerto Rico, mobile patrols will pass an area and burst the siren briefly just to let you know they are in the area. What we need is to contract a someone like the retired officer Sup Renato Adams out of Jamaica for a 2 year period - those familiar with Jamaica know how he operated effectively and fearlessly to the point where he did not inform members of his own team about the specifics of operations since he trusted no one but himself (and even held on to their cell phones until the operation ended). We need to get serious.

#59 At Your Own Risk » 2013-02-26 15:29

"This has attracted a large, curious, and angry crowd, calling for swift justice of the perpetrator.".. .Just like the Masacre in Connecticut started the movement against illegal firearms...this incident should be a wake up call to the people of Antigua...It is time to get angry and stand up for your country...deman d action from the lazy government that is just sitting idling by and doing nothing to stop this from happening. Baldwin Spencer has his security unit protecting him...who is protecting the people of the country..Stand up for your right...Antigua ns it is time to stop talking..we are only good in talking bad about each other...now is the time to stand up with each other..time to be your brother's keeper...Organi zed a March "Antiguan's and Barbudans Against Crime" ...March to the Prime Minister's office...March to his house..do whatever you have to do to get Baldwin Spencer to get up and do something to protect the people of Antigua....Anti gua is being held hostage by these criminals. Antiguans it is up to you to tek back control of the country. What happen to Antigua A Fu Arwe!!!!

Errol Corte, We need the right to bare arms. Are you still silent? Do you feel safe? Well I don't. Can the process be changed where in no more than 6 months an applicant can receive a license to legally bare fire arms?

If you can protect us and will not allow us to protect ourselves legally, we will find other means to so do.

What a failure? What a miserable bunch of failures is the UPP.

My condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased. It is quite evident that the inaction of our leaders and our lax justices system have emboldened the criminals in ANU. What is even more troubling is that many of these crimes are taking place within earshot of police stations, yet met with little to no response. I still maintain that these criminals are as daring and brazen as they are, because many of them are carrying out the bidding of some influential figures who they know will get them out of trouble should they be caught. It takes money, lots of it, to import guns and drugs into the island. Do the math!

Antigua people, now is the time to stand up for your country! We are good for talking the talk and not walking the walk! I don't know about you, but I refuse to allow these little thugs take control of the country! Heritage Quay is where the majority of the tourist disembark to enjoy our island and look where the shooting happened. What message are we sending the tourists right at our front gate? If you see a petition circulating - sign it. If you see an organized demonstration forming - join it and if dem say bring back hanging - SUPPORT IT!

Let's have another press conference and another task force blah blah blah. When these young men are found with guns let the magistrate let them off easy because they "found it" Let their mothers cry about their innocence and police brutality when they are caught. Tell the woman's kids to pray.

Or take the leash off of the police and hunt and exterminate them like the animals they are. That's the tak force we need....fire with fire....us against them. They don't care about anything except themselves....n ot about our kids, family or the law.

We need more police on the roads, more WALKING the streets and more stop and searches. I think the most simple of the many problems that we have to deal with is a managerial one. The police force needs better management in every aspect. Like the most successful hotels, it isn't about old school management. These days you have to be real good and real smart. I don't feel the force is being managed the way it was a few years ago. Bring back them Canadians!

#40 SMH » 2013-02-26 15:00

To Scared, Madd, Fed up, Tenman et al: There is a simple solution to the current problem of gun crimes. The Prime Minister should assign an armed policeman to every citizen. That policeman should be within sight of the citizen he is guarding at all times of the day - sleeping or waking, working or idle. The policeman should shoot anyone that comes within feet of the person he is protecting and the Prime Minister should be held accountable if the bullet misses its intended target. The Prime Minister should spend his time standing by in the studios of every radio station to address the nation if anyone else loses his or her life. It is tragic that people should lose their lives so tragically and senselessly but it is even more tragic when idiots use these situations to spout inane comments. John Compton won an election by fooling St. Lucians that he had the answer to the gun crimes in that nation and where did he end up in short order?

I do no think that we need to be pointing fingers at this moment at anyone. What we need to do now is fall on our knees before God and cry out to him not only for the family but for the perpetrator/s. Let us not blame others, but let us start to examine ourselves and play a part in this great nation of ours. It is not a blame game, it is the responsibility of ALL of us to be our brother's keeper and do our part to keep our nation safe.

At this stage, the ordinary citizen cannot be faulted if he/she takes justice into his own hands! Honestly, vigilante justice is going to have to be the way to go if our Police Force can't do the job. They always out giving tickets left right and center, they good at that! And you want to tell me that NO police OR transport board officer was ANYWHERE in the vicinity?? Not even to apprehend or give chase to the perpetrator, but even to OBSERVE a would-be perpetrator fleeing and to be able to say in which direction he fled?? With the recent rapid and systematic increase in armed robberies and assault, the police don't see that they have to step-up patrols? They sitting on they hind quarters in the village stations all day all night; they note out to breakfast and lunch on-time, but you can't see them any other time. To claim lack of manpower is rubbish. FIND a way; get defense force help, according to WATCHFUL (above). Police, Vere Brown, you are failing us; you are miserably failing to protect or serve. This is beyond acceptable. Drastic measures are needed. Curfews for young people. The army whom we are feeding needs to get on the road. They know the hotspots around the country start shaking them up. Resume HANGING and take a stronger stand against gun crime. All those boys going around with sacks on their backs and not in school uniforms start picking them up and searching them. This crime spree is out of control and the minister of national security and the police clearly lack the skills and capacity to manage this situation.

Caribarena, yesterday you carried an article by Samantha Marshall. That suggestion she made about bringing out 50 Defence Force Personnel to compliment the Police Force should be implemented tonight, if not now. I don't care who first mentioned it here. Sometimes those who come last sit at the head of the table. Samantha Marshall, your idea is timely, and damn good. Take the opportunity, if you are reading this, and call Errol Cort and tell him that the country demands the implementation of this idea.
