China's Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit

His Excellency Liu HanmingAntigua St John's - Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Antigua, His Excellency Liu Hanming, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit on Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister Dr Edmond Mansoor.

During the visit, a wide range of matters were discussed, including the near 30-year-old bilateral relationship between both countries.

Ambassador Hanming indicated that between 2008 and 2011, over 120 Antiguans and Barbudans had participated in seminars in China, covering several different disciplines, and that China was committed to continuously providing this level of training.

Minister Mansoor in turn thanked Ambassador Hanming for China’s support in the training of technical personnel at ABS TV and Radio over the last three years, in particular. Eight members of staff at ABS TV and Radio have travelled to Beijing to benefit directly from a number of seminars focusing on TV and Radio Management for Developing Countries.

Minister Mansoor also thanked Ambassador Hanming for China’s commitment to the development of Antigua and Barbuda.

“With over 70)Antiguan and Barbudan students studying in universities in China, and with several major infrastructural projects like the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium and the restoration of the Gray’s Hill Reservoir complete, and with the impending construction of a brand new airport terminal, Antigua and Barbuda has formed a deep and mutually respectful relationship with the People’s Republic of China," Minister Mansoor said.

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda, through the Ministry of Information, will be collaborating with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to produce a full length television documentary chronicling the historic bilateral relationship between the two countries.

This full length documentary is scheduled for airing during the upcoming 30th anniversary celebrations marking Antigua and Barbuda’s Independence.

Good opinion,Coopin, I have a feeling you're correct about that. And the way both the Chinese and Japanese fish with reckless abandon, nothing will remain for the locals.(with Japan's water contaminated after its nuclear plants meltdown,Antigu a waters bekon.)Here is where we need to place more of our efforts in preventign those sorts of things from happening here.Because when we keep silent,it means we are accepting the wrong.

How is the Government of Antigua going to pay back the Chinese , they have no money !!! They are going to let them bring in their ( Big Fishing Ships ) to Antigua ..... then you will not have to worry about the French or Dutch or Japanese coming in to Antiguan waters , cause there will be nothing left ....... they will even take the seaweed to .

GOD BLESS ANTIGUA
