Correction - A GATE For Whom

Antigua St. John's - Caribarena would like to apologize for a calculation error made in one of our articles titled "A GATE For Whom".

In the article, it read, "One Laptop per Child is a global organization, from which programs like the GATE project can receive fully capable laptops that are built tough and designed for educational purposes for the price of $200. With $6.75 Million, the Government could purchase over 33,000 such laptops."

The calculation error involves the fact that the price of the laptop is $200 USD, while the amount donated by Digicel is in fact $6.75 million ECD, or $2.5 million USD.

With this amount of money, the Ministry could actually purchase approximately 12,500 laptops, which is still twice more than the 6,000 tablets the Ministry intends to buy initially.

Caribarena would like to apologize for the mistake and any inconvenience it may have caused.
