APUA Launches Give Back Week

Team-members-Clare-Hall-Secondary-School,-Mrs.-E.-Jonah-GreeneAntigua St John's - APUA is marking the launch of its new brand with a week of community service activities dubbed “Give-Back Week”. According to a company release, staff members will participate in a charitable activity each day from November 14 to 19.

APUA launched its new brand on November 11, with the tagline, “Necessary....for life," intended to signal the utility company's lifetime commitment to managing services that are very necessary to Antiguan & Barbudan life.

On Tuesday November 15, a team of APUA employees treated necessary service persons, recognising other persons and professions in society that provide very essential services.

Teachers at the Clare Hall Secondary and TN Kirnon Primary schools, along with nurses from the northern district clinics (Clare Hall, Judges Hill, New Winthorpes, Potters, Piggotts, and Cedar Grove), and the firemen at the St John’s Fire Station were treated to a sumptuous lunch served by APUA staff members.

One of the project leaders for the initiative, Claudine Benjamin-Browne, said, “Our gifts were well received. The recipients were appreciative of the gesture and the fact that another company recognised that what they do is necessary for the lives of Antiguans
and Barbudans.”

The Give-Back Week will continue with a visit to the Pediatric Ward of the Mount St John’s Medical Centre by the senior managers and other staff members at APUA on Wednesday November 16.

Notes From A Native Son Of The Rock. For the coming "Perfec t Storm" The Reds have been Transactional. The Blues with the former Chair have been Strategic in anticipation of the coming Perfect Storm. Focusing on APUA, you have been lulled into A&B developing along a path of dormitory for retirees as suggested by A&B's Dr. Glen Richards. Are you now going to tell your family and FAVES about this APUA Tactical Plan or continue to ruminate & fulminate. Forget The Reds. Let me end with Lakey: Quote:
"You going tell him? Or shall I? T'is a sin to let the boy become a lecherous lout like you. The children you breed don't know how you squeeze their mother's womb into submission. You think we are all following you? Is to raise enough money to feed them, why we are here. We don't have to breed the blasted place to rule it!"
Strategic use of APUA funds for political objective have bamboozled the electorate who went chasing after windmills and sugarmills which dot the A&B landscape as ruins. The Reds and their Collective need to "wheel and come again". Heaven Help The Nation Of Antigua & Barbuda including Redonda.

Notes From A Native Son Of The Rock. While the Reds engaged in the Quote:
"staging of...mass protest as popular entertainment and carnival spectacle"
the Blues were planning the coopting of Quote:
"the peculiar characteristics of the Caribbean(A&B) middle cl** to transform them into very dangerous animals"
oblivious to the cries of the poor. Do you get it? Statistical Stratification. May I encourage those youth who wish to further their education to google Nate Silver and follow his statistical analyses on the coming US elctions.
Here is Lakey again: Quote:
"Sonny, one of you must stay. Keep an open house, and get a pliant woman to house-help. How else to rule. I did that all me life. Me start off as Gunga Din and already work me way up to kitchen boy, to smash the jewel of an empire". Rhyder turned and eyed the hamlet like it was a pliant woman waiting for the plucking. "Is not me style, I done watch the Englishman put his long fingernail down the sari on me sister's back. A man got to produce mayhem once in he lifetime, but it should be among his own womenfolk".
Do you see the picture? The Strategy?

So let me get this correct. APUA pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for these foreign consultants to tell them what to do. No where is there any improvement for us the customer! AnD best of all they can only come up with the tagline " Neccessary.. For Life" whicH is clearly stolen from the Digicel Antigua & Barbuda For Life campaign which they launched several months. Seriously how stupid are there guys. My 4 year old daughter could come up with something more original than that! Waste, waste, waste1

Notes From A Native Son Of The Rock. Friends, CountryWomen/Me n, Ouadadlians, Ratas, "Pickey Head People", this "mere traveller/voice in the wilderness" has been reminding that most humans live to incease their terminal wealth. Wishing to roll today's lead articles (Bill Proposes Major Changes to Electoral Commission & ALP Threatens Boycott of Parliament) with this you are encouraged to review JF's previous exhortations proffered with regard to future directions and the sagacity of Chaku. He has been a brilliant tactioner. Let us revisit Edgar O. Lake's "The Devil's Bridge".
Quote:
When we go the hamlets' we represent the Scaly-Hoppers' Council. They sent us. He looked at each man with the rope of a growing conspiracy about their necks, being led to the market as mules submitting to a mythical train. "We are consolidating all lodges, fraternities, societies." He Looked pleadingly, a man on the brink of being abandoned. "With the right costumes, we're as good as gold!" Rhyder shouted, seeking to prompt a fevered pitch, a fervour that his sly campaign required but sought to disguise.
Why not feed the poor and indigent? Who will bring home the bacon?

We need an APUA march! Time for change and to stop these fools once and for all. I have no problem with their staff, they do their best but it is impossible when their senior management like Esworth and Curtis are fools! Come on my friends let's march! And PM please do your job and get rid of these fools who bring down our country and are like a cancer.

I am soo pleased to see someone feels like me,for a while now i,ve been begging for some action against this cruelty met out to us by APUA,this is shameful. The GM was on the air a few days ago, trying some damage control, one thing he said that was quite correct, was the fact that what he was saying he knew would not be of any comfort to the public,in short he gave no hope for an ease from the high Fuel Variation charges which we are paying for 3times in one bill.We need to boycott them, lets see what they do without even 30% of the paying public,we are getting too much advantage in this country all of a sudden,it is high time people get wise and fight back.

Who approved all this wasteful spending? Did the Prime Minister approve such foolishness! In all my years I have never seen such a waste of our money? Only two weeks ago Clarvis and Esworth (not worth much) Martin are threatening everyone on paying their bills or be disconnected! Then they go and spend hundreds of thousands of our dollars on pretty pictures. My electricity bills have gone from an average of $600 a month to over $1,100!!! How can any business justify that level of increase! They waste thousands of dollars on imobile also when there is no value to us the customer. When is someone going to do something about this. APUA are killing my country!

I am so sorry for you digicel and Lime compete with each other. They may have to rebrand to win a bigger market share. APUA have no competition so why not put the focus on better customer service? People would not complain if Lime and Digicel rebrand cause they would be using private money

#6 Skyewill » 2011-11-16 20:29

In this hard economic times you spent all that money to rebrand? Who is the competition? Are you loosing market share? These are the first 2 questions and reason for rebranding and you got neither. Foolishness and a waste

What has this got to do with Lime or Digicel. APUA have spent thousands of dollars on nothing of value. A leopard doesn't change it spots. Stop trying to do fancy artwork and focus on giving us clean water and electricity at affordable prices. Their high prices are affecting every man, woman and child in this country. Also means business is too expensive thanks to their rediculous costs. Who pays for this stupidness, we the customer does!

Just give me water when I turn on the tap - and power when I flip the switch.
If you can do this at a fair and reasonable price - bliss!

I have never seen such foolishness in my life. They have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars of our money on rebranding. I could not believe it on ABS when they said they had hired an externak consultant, how much did that cost!! How many brands do they need. My bills keep going up and up and up. My water is dirty and cannot give to my family so I have to buy expensive bottled water. My electricity is constantly on and off!! Seriously how much more of their mismanagement do we have to put up with. They can't even get the basic right and yet they waste hundreds of thousands of dollars when what people need is lower bills and less expense in these hard time. APUA senior management need to go and quickly.
