Yacht Workers Plan Seafood Feast

seafood-feast-Antigua St John's - The Antigua and Barbuda Yacht Workers Association (ABYWA) has announced December 17, 2011 as the date for its Seafood Feast in the parking lot at English Harbour, near the Dockyard Police Station.

President Stephen Samuel encouraged vendors from the Liberta, Falmouth, and English Harbour areas to register.

The feast is scheduled from 2 pm to about midnight.

Although the entertainment schedule is to be determined, there will be live music throughout the afternoon. Samuel noted that sumptuous seafood will form the backdrop of the highly anticipated fun day for the entire family and picturesque environment of the Nelson's Dockyard.

“This is the inaugural year for the Seafood Feast, but will undoubtedly be the premiere in English Harbour,” he said.

This event is being planned to enhance culture and community integration among visitors and the yachting community.

Additionally, funds raised will be used to assist members of the association in the event of an accident on the job.

“We are not just looking to put on a good event this year," Samuel said. "Our mission is to become an annual event that showcases the  work being undertaken by the members of the yacht workers association and English Harbour as an unparalleled place to live, work, play, and of course enjoy seafood."
