Antigua St John's - The American Medical Student Association (AMSA), a student organisation of the American University of Antigua (AUA), and JCI Antigua are collaborating to host a health fair on November 12 at the Multi-Purpose Cultural Centre.
The public was invited to have a free screening of their vital signs. Their blood pressure, BMI, eyes, and glucose levels will be checked in sequence. They will then be able to interact with doctors and get education on their overall health.
The AMSA-AUA health fair teams, which have a longstanding working relationship with various professional groups, announced a special partnership with the AIDS Secretariat to promote World AIDS Month.
"The upcoming health fair looks forward to having listed associations and groups on board, all sharing information on their special areas of expertise," a release said.
The following organisations contributed to the November 12 health fair: JCI Antigua, Lion’s Club, AIDS Secretariat, Gender Fair, Society of Diabetes, Breast Friends, Antigua & Barbuda HIV/AIDS network, Rotary club and the Antigua Sickle Cell Association.
A complimentary shuttle (donated by Lowger Bus Lines) will run from East Bus Station to the Multipurpose Centre at 8:15 am and 10:15 am.
