Staff at the Mount St John's Medical Centre have been promised that their performance will be lauded through the recently launched MSJMC STAR programme which recognizes both clinical and non-clinical staff, volunteers and physicians for going above and beyond their typical job duties and making a significant difference.
The areas under review will be teamwork, communication, caring and compassion, a safe and clean environment, and privacy and confidentiality.
Marketing & Communications Manager Salma Crump said, “The objectives of this programme are to incorporate the Star philosophy in the MSJMC culture and promote behaviors that exemplify some of our core values at MSJMC which are Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Excellence. We want to make sure everything we do makes it clear that at our hospital, it’s all about the patients—their care, their comfort, their well being.”
Award recipients can be nominated by coworkers, patients or visitors. They will be recognized and honoured monthly with a Shining Star Pin to wear proudly. The public was encouraged to fill out one of the nomination forms the next time they visit the hospital, or to download one from the MSJMC Facebook Page. Comments will be shared with the nominees.

Important
I too hope it's long-term but management has to also be careful of people who are just mischievous and may want to bring a staff down.
To this end, cheers!
