My first response to this would be why worry, isn't this claimed to be the PM's brainchild www.caribarena.com/antigua/health/health-news/100298-groundbreaking-next-week-for-cancer-centre.html? He will get it done. I recall asking questions about it via comments to the referenced article and being accused of being a petty political hater. I never liked the design, which calls for creating yet another monopoly. Anyway, lets celebrate, and thank PM Spencer now that the project is UPP's definition of reality (brings back memory of the car park and the clock tower mall soft opening):

Having absolutely nothing to show for the past 9 years in office, the UPP administration is frantically running around, like headless chickens, trying to establish talking points prior to the next elections. This need to establish talking points will no doubt result in other rash decisions without the requisite due dilligence.

I guess we cannot be surprised with the decisions coming out of ABIA. After all, it is headed by a primary school teacher - no disrespect meant to primary school teachers.

It is rather interesting that Dr. Porter is now claiming ignorance to the warrant; he should have known it was only a matter of time. What is even more troubling is that despite all of this information being widely disseminated and readily available, our gov't was still willing to greet him with open arms, red carpet, and rose petals. Did they not learn anything from the Stanford saga? Do they not really understand the purpose of due diligence? I await your well-reasoned response.

I also predict a third embar**ment and that will be the factory that is supposedly going to construct prefabricated houses and export them from Antigua....SERI OUSLY? Does anybody believe a company would come to an island where the cost or electricity is two to three times higher than elsewhere, where the infrastructure is barely adequate and where import and export duties double the price of goods?

It is true there is an arrest warrant for Dr. Porter for his allegedly involvment with the English hospital in Montreal, Quebec. It is for an alleged fraud and taking bribe. Again Antigua is in bad company. Doesn't anyone in Antigua do their homework before they get in these scheme.
