Antigua St John's - Eight contestants representing Christ the King High School in the Queen of the Form pageant were treated to lunch at Grand Pineapple Beach Resort on March 24.
They were welcomed by General Manager Courtney Miller, who commended the specially invited guests for their dedication.
“We were thrilled to sponsor this venture because it is wonderful to see such talented young women who are determined to excel in academics while still engaging in extracurricular activities, which require them to give back to their community,” Miller said.
The students were given a resort tour and swam in the pool after doing a photo shoot.
Organiser and chaperone Sharna Casimir explained this year’s pageant and emphasized that all of the contestants are talented and well spoken.
“The theme of this year’s pageant is Grecian Goddesses, so each girl has picked a goddess that they will be embodying throughout the show," Casimir explained. "The five segments are Personality and Aspiration Speech, Talent, Cocktail Wear, Interview, and Research Segment." Participants are in second to fifth form and all of them have been training hard with coaches to perfect their performances.
The Queen of the Form pageant will be on Saturday, March 31 at 7 pm. The winner of the competition will represent Christ the King in this year’s Teen Splash, which takes place during the festivities for Carnival 2012.
