Antigua St. John's - It was a kaleidoscope of colors in St. John's on Sunday as thousands of children from schools and communities across the country gathered to celebrate Carnival 2012 with the customary parade through the city streets.

With music and dance, the nation's youth entertained themselves and those who lined the streets to observe and support the LIME Junior Carnival Parade.

The parade flowed from the House of Culture through to Independence Avenue, on to Redcliffe Street and then to High Street before converging in the ARG Carnival City.

It is in the city that the parade participants, which covered more than two dozen segments, had the opportunity to cross the "big stage" to have their troops judged in two competition segments - School Mas and Private Band.

A Prince and Princess competition with more elaborate costumes were also featured this year.

This year's song of choice seemed to be Ricardo Dru's hit 'Super Man' which has also been signaled as a favorite for the 2012 Soca Monarch title.
