CDC should have taken a look at the finalists before announcing them, the show was horrid, if these were the best then Antigua's music have taken a real backseat to all the other Caribbean islands.

Time for the CDC to look at how it handles these shows, and start firing people starting with those at the top.

Too many issues with this show, what happened with Tian and HardKnaxx on stage should have disqualified both of them, there are places that you do not go in a competition. This final was beneath what we should expect from our performers in Antigua, who wasn't out of breath couldn't. these artists just showed up, the worst they are all going to get money for being awful.

if i were lion king i would not go in for soca monarch competition the first time i hear one of his songs was i think in 09 when she sang trucking anna, and his profromance was good with his antigua black pineapple and his hole performance was local but i dont know what the judges are looking for

for the past 3 years i keep saying the samething with tian he sound too much klike them trinidad and when i say that people say am i hater but in fact tian sound to much like them tirnins. not only with the music sounding trinins every fete i went to that same tian will sing them trinins songs and am not lying me never hear he sing one a burning flames old song them. even maority of the mass camp custumes come from trinin thats why reverls win every year

Steve, Don't judge others by your warped standards. What you are actually saying is that if you were chairman whom ever you are associated with would certainly rise to the top be it merited or not. Get a life.

I think Promise No Promises had one of the better performances .... it really is sad he did not make it through so that makes me think that the judges really were not paying attention...... .. as far as i go they go by names and not the song and performance the artist put on ......... cause there are some people that are in the finals that should never have made it in there in my opinion including tian he was really ** but then again his manager is chairman of CDC ..... which should not be ......

I find antigua people are hard on Tian at times. Yes, he sings alot of machel songs and does sound a bit more trinidadian that most other local artist, but he is still very good at what he does. And once he figure out the 'local' formula like krokus, oungku, onyan etc has done - he will be a force to reckon with for years to come. IBABA, SUPa MAN, RAVIn, CP... this years soca show going MADD!!

I actually went to the show,... and I want to comment he Judges for the finalist selected. In every competition such as this where 9 must be selected from a total o 20, some persons will feel slighted. This list of finalist is commendable and i congratulate the Judges for JUDGING SONGS and not 'major' ARTIST this time around. For Groovy - Janine and Young Destroyer definitely earned and deserved their nod to the finals infront the likes of Jashaun, who had a weak song & a performance to go with it.

Kind Sonic name recognition may be low, but i'm telling the m** to definitely look out for him in the finals this year. Where as Tian gets alot of cheers just because he is 'Tian', his song 'Ravin' is not one of his stronger songs, in fact its very weak, flat, Trinidad want-2-be - 90% of people in Antigua don't even know what he is saying or the story in it.
