Antigua St John's - The JT Ambrose School was abuzz on February 29 as students and teachers eagerly put on a cultural display to end Black History Month celebrations.
Each class researched a Caribbean island and displayed information on its customs, culture, music, dress, and food.
The school was perfumed with the aroma of roasted breadfruit, fungi and saltfish, ackee and saltfish, channa, roti, festival, green fig, and St Lucian style saltfish.
The delectable nature of the dishes also drew nearby villagers and parents who came for samples.
One parent, Victorine Carr, did her do of Ital right on the school grounds.
The students were able to view the yabba firsthand, and how to set up a three-stone fire side.
The reviews for the Ital were great. “It bang good!” said those who tasted.
The day was a well spent, and students were engaged in learning, sharing, and having fun.
