Antigua St John's - ABI Insurance Co Ltd staff has been working to combat school bullying by visiting grade one and two students in the Zone 3 schools.
During the interactive sessions, the students identified and were educated on the varying forms of bullying; how to combat aggressive and negative behaviours; how to speak up and speak out; the importance of cultivating good friendship, and their ability to impact positive change.
To reinforce the lesson, each student received a colouring book and supplies.
The schools visited included New Bethel S.D.A. Academy, Cobbs Cross Primary, Liberta Primary, Buckleys Primary, JT Ambrose Primary, Bendals Junior Seconday, Charlesworth T Samuel, Minoah Magnet Academy, Seaview Farm Primary, St John’s Lutheran, Antigua & Barbuda Seventh Day Adventist Primary, and Foundation Mixed Primary.
A release from the company said, "In understanding that bullying can have destructive consequences such as health and mental issues, we at ABI Insurance continue to educate and participate in the socio-cultural development of our nation’s youth with the aim to increase academic achievement.
