I completely AGREE AND MORE with STEAK ON THE GRILL and A STICH IN TIME, they seem to know very well the facts. If the last General Manager who work for Nicholas for 8 years was not able to turn aroun this decay/pristine property how is Ted going to do? perhaps he can borrow money from his old bossess and then get fire for doing a nice favor.

To employ Ted Isaac as manager to this hotel is a complete joke. Everyone needs a job, so I guess he's desperate to take this position in the hope that he wouldn't really have to xxxxx but take a xxx and wait for his other 'xxxx' when they fire for xxx xxx incompetency.

No guests, no staff , no one. We asked the cab driver if the Resort was closed for repairs and he said no but also said very few people stay there. He menitioned that the resort was sold a few years ago and the new owners did not seem interested in advertising or keeping the place up. He also mentioned that he has taken tourists there who booked for a week or more who checked out the very next day. Not sure what is going on with this resort (you can tell at some point many years ago that it was really grand and beautiful) but it certainly would not be a place we would consider staying. Especially with the number of great choices in Antigua. ..

“We did not stay here but visited the grounds for a tour -- the resort is in disrepair and deserted” 1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2012 6 people found this review helpful We took a boat cruise with with Aqua Adventures which originates its sunset cruise from the Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort. We took a cab ride from the Galley Bay Resort (a wonderful place to stay) to the Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort on a Thursday around 3:30 PM and the first thing we noticed is that there was no one there. No one on the grounds, no one in the lobby or the restaurants, no one at the pool and only 4 locals at the beach (which was really beautiful and wide). It was really eerie. The place really looked deserted. We also noticed that the property was falling into disrepair with cracks on the walls and the grounds pretty neglected. At the end of our cruise it was pretty dark and as we walked outside we didn't see more than 5 rooms in the entire resort with any lights on. Nor did we see anyone in the lobby (which looked pretty interesting), bar or restaurant. Ctd. ..

Why is Mr. Isaac in denial? It seems this is a characteristics of UPP supporters. You can smell rotting wood, when it rains and you are at the property. If the plan is to simply paint over decay, Ted is fighting a losing proposition. The current owner agreed to major renovations in his agreement to purchase this property and was therefore given a discounted price. Its seeming as if there was no performance clause to force Issa Nicholas to do what the government claimed he agreed to. ..

Please dont charge US$12 for internet. Do U know how many people choose a hotel simply because they have free internet. An average guest spends 5-7 days in your hotel and all they want to do is check email, research info on the country they are in, keep in touch with family and loved ones. I'm an avid traveller and if U dont have wifi, or charge for wifi, I just book another hotel. The hotel will seem desperate for cash or just outdated if it charges for that service.

Any venture that will bring employment to the citizens of ANU & Barbuda gets an "A" from me. However, I believe that the proposed US $12 fee for internet use is a bit absorbitant. Most hotels around the world offer free internet access to guests, so they may want to revisit that proposal. Instead of US $12, how about EC $10? The goal should be to encourage guests to stay and use the amenities at the hotel, not chase them away with what they may deem to be high fees.
