FCIB Staff Return To Work

Dr-Cort-and-Labour-Comissioner-WilliamsAntigua St John's - The staff at FirstCaribbean International Bank (FCIB) have agreed to return to work after a meeting on Tuesday between the bank's management and the Antigua and Barbuda Workers Union, chaired by Minister of Labour Dr Errol Cort and attended by Labour Comissioner Hesketh Williams.

A joint statement Monday night said, "Both sides had full frank and open discussions of the issues that gave rise to the employees of the Bank taking industrial action and are pleased to announce that they have arrived at an acceptable determination of the way forward for both sides."

As a result, staff will return to their positions, and normal operations at the bank are expected to resume on Wednesday April 20 at both branches.

Both sides thanked the Labour minister for his initiative and intervention in this matter and for his efforts in bringing the parties together.

No details were given on the resolutions reached during the meeting.

This is how it suppose to be! I am glad to see the staff back to work and both sides iron out their differences and come to an agreement! Hopefully, we will know the full details of the resolution very soon! At the end of the day, it is about the workers and the peoples interest, and not about some politician or party-hacks! Wow, Cort was actually able to bring both sides together? He is really on a mission to change public perseption about him! He surely has a long way to go! Wish him well!

John French II the issue is not really the steps but how it was done. I have always been told, at times, its not what you say but how you say it (bad implementation) . Perhaps this industrial action will bring that message home to the bank.

LIVING IN THE IMF's NEST

#1 John French II » 2011-04-20 08:04

Notes from a Native Son of the Rock. Why are so many "Pickey Head People" bawling with surprise that FCIB would take such steps. Its all Business. Check on the Financial Reserves of the Indigenous Banks. The Economy has collapsed. Study the IMF's History, its Inception, Strategy, Modus Operandi and Modus Vivendi. A leopard cannot change its spots. Travel through the CSME and folks are at a loss to understand why and how Ouadadli fell into the IMF's NEST. Here is a Tip. The Minister was long compromised by the "AfroAMlady". He tried to be a "player" and got caught - entrapmment some say. The Comrades messed with Sam and he paid ethically and morally for his weakness. Follow his path. He journeyed to the IMF's NEST and was put into a "Sleeper Cell" - The "Ouadadlian Candidate" - before his tenure in Her Majesty's Privateer's Secret Service. Legal Beagle? Follow the trail to the Bar. Follow the Money and Summer and Romantic Rhythms. Heaven help the Children.
