Students ages 6 to 18 have been invited to participate in the 2011 Schools’ Signboard competition being organised by Antigua Sailing Week, in partnership with LIAT the Caribbean Airline.
The young artists can submit their best depiction of ASW, which can be a land or seascape.
The submission process opens on March 1, and ends on April 4. All participants will have their art exposed to the world via the official Sailing Week website www.sailingweek.com.
In addition, the top three winners in the 6–10, 11–14 and 15–18 categories can win prizes including airline tickets for two, iPods, art supplies, model planes, and other prizes.
It is customary for the winning painting from the eldest category to be chosen for the signboard welcoming arrivals to English Harbour. This year though, there is a twist; the winning signboard can be chosen from any category.
